The Bride : “There’s nothing sacred left, then..”
A cruel and hilarious play in one act.
Al Zifaf, DIE KLEINBÜRGERHOCHZEIT (A Very Respectable Wedding), by Bertolt Brecht depicts a wedding in which everyone needs to look good and during which everything goes wrong. It mocks delusions and conventions but also reveals existential, deeply moving doubts, curses and frustrations. Al Zifaf represented Germany at the European Theatre Festival in Lebanon (2nd edition).
